Letters to the Management

Enter a more positive state of knowing.

Michele Grant
I'm an attorney in Philadelphia. My firm, Grant Myers LLC, specializes in entertainment law: copyright, trademark, and contract matters for creatives, entertainers, and performers in all media. My IP expertise includes Creative Commons and GPL licensing, as well as online content provider defense (libel, defamation, objectionable content, etc.). I also do general practice work: family law, real estate transactions, debt collection, wills, powers of attorney, and trusts and estates.

Outside of my law work, I'm a cinema enthusiast and former experimental filmmaker. I haven't worked on a film for a few years now, but in the past my short work screened to tens of people, mostly appreciative, in Philly, Bryn Mawr, Buffalo, and Seattle.

Two books that I think you should read are Marvin Harris's Cultural Materialism and Susan Maushart's The Mask of Motherhood. Then pick up the U.S.A. trilogy by John Dos Passos.

"opadit" was one of my daughter's first words and rhymes with and means "open it." Her actual first word was "hockey."

I firmly believe that I am one of the luckiest people in the entire world. I thank my stars every day for my friends and good fortune. I honestly believe I'm living on borrowed time, and I look forward to waking up every single day, even when I've turned the heat down to save on my gas bill. Because waking up isn't the same as getting up out of bed.

My favorite philosopher is Saint Mick of Stone (second half of the 20th century C.E.), who said, "You can't always get what you want; but, if you try, sometimes you just might find you get what you need."

Additional: Follower of a mostly vegetarian diet, older than I look, don't have cable TV, don't own a car but keep my license current. A photo of me and more information than you ever wanted to know about me are available on my web site.
